They absolutely can! (You have to make sure the setting is turned on, though.) Also, sometimes Amazon offers great rebates on Carbonite, so you might want to check that out. I believe I got my first year for $10 which was a great way to try their service out.

I'm back to check out the online backup services. ;) Its something I've wondered about, unfortunately its not in the budget at the moment. Do these services also backup the Outlook pst file?

Hiya Glenda--I can completely relate to the email folders being out of control. Everyone said Gmail was the way (because of its "high powered" search capabilities) but now I just have way too many tags instead of folders. Grr ;-).

There's nothing like a 1TB drive + Acronis combo, is there? (Of course, a year from now...) I've had opportunity to use my back up several times (mostly, for upgrading, fortunately), and each time it's such a breeze!

Great list, Jessica. I'm loving my 1TB hard drive and Acronis! Its set to do a complete backup every Saturday - absolutely painless!

I'm still struggling with keeping email under control. Yesterday I shrunk my inbox from 885 to 9,but now have umpteen folders to empty or archive. I wish there was a painless way to do that!
