Hugo, like I said on the recording, take a look at what you've purchased recently and decide who genuinely appealed to you for whatever reason. If you're worried about seeming hype-y or unprofessional, make sure you choose a model that isn't either of those things--that way, you'll be able to use what you learn from them with confidence. There are plenty of people out there setting a great example of offering service and value without sounding like they're just in it for the money, so ask yourself who's been most persuasive for you. That's your model!

Joe, any time that your audience doesn't really need to understand *how* you do what you do, but they do need to understand 1) you know what you're doing, and 2) how they can use your services more effectively, one of your best sources for content is going to be case studies. Profile other clients and the way you work with them and help them--talk up those projects that have made a big difference for the people you work for. These case studies will build your credibility and educate your clients about when to hire you and why they'd hire *you* and that's the kind of education that translates best into new business.

Jess-as a computer programmer, my clients don't understand what I do. I've never understood how I'd keep a blog or ezine, even though I'd like to educate my clients more. Thoughts?

Hi DeeDee, if your market's anything like the local market here, people are still getting loans and it's more important than ever to reach out and support them with top notch information. People are a little nervous about buying right now, and navigating financing and all of that, so positioning yourself as the go-to resource would definitely help you gain more clients (and help more people). Honestly, though, if you're convinced no one needs you, it's time to do things differently whether you move into a different industry or simply offer your clients new services. Perhaps your clients would be interested in paying off their home loans faster--can you offer a financial strategy session to help them map that out? When you don't have a line of ready, willing prospects out your door, that doesn't mean there's no demand for what you do, it just means what you do isn't as in demand as it was two years ago--be willing to dig deeper and you'll absolutely uncover new opportunities to serve your clients.

Hi Mike--generally, that's not something you'll need to worry about, but if you have a really large list, or some super affiliates, check in with your host before the launch. Let them know what's happening and find out about how they'll be able to accommodate that extra bandwidth need. By alerting them in advance, you can almost always avoid any outages or downtime. And, if your host can't support you, it might be time to move. I use and love Dreamhost and you can save $37 by using THRIVEYOURTRIBE as your code.

Great call--thanks! What I want to know is when I'm planning a launch, how do I keep from getting too many orders? Because I don't want my server to crash or anything.

I really enjoyed the beginning of the call--had to go about half way through, but can't wait to hear what I missed in the recording. You always have such neat ideas. Thanks!

Jessica, I'm a mortgage broker and wondering how I can make this work in my business right now. If people aren't getting loans, how can publishing help in my business?
