Free Teleseminar: 7 Strategies for Profitable Blogs and Ezines

Edited at 2:15 p.m. on March 19 (immediately following the call.)
Were you on the line with me? I hope so! (We had to score extra lines to fit everyone in–that was awesome! and nerve wracking!) The call went really well, if I do say so myself, except for that little interruption when Izzy decided he wanted to say hello! 😉 If you haven’t signed up, please do–I’ll send you the link to the recording. And, if you were on the line, please post any comments, feedback, or questions below. I can’t wait to hear about how you use what you learned to thrive your business and Thrive Your Tribe!
I don’t do teleclasses often, let alone free ones. My last teleclass was almost two years ago! I much prefer having my audience in the same room with me where I can see if people have questions, and chat with everyone after my talk. But, I also know that most of you are very, very far from Winston-Salem, NC and flying in to hear me talk for an hour just doesn’t make sense.
So, the solution is for me to quit my complaining about an “invisible” audience and offer you a telephone seminar on how you can make your ezine and blog a heck of a lot more profitable–right now. I’ll be revealing exactly what my most profitable clients are doing at this very moment, and also giving you a list of my favorite resources and tools. It’s not a “preview” call for anything, it’s just me giving you some really great strategies for how you can connect with more people, better serve your tribe, and increase your business’s profits all at the same time.
When you sign up, you’ll immediately receive access information. You’ll also receive the link to the recording after the call.
There are only 100 lines and from the numbers so far, we will hit our max capacity (teleseminar “experts” predict about 50% of people who sign up actually show up, and we were at 150 registrations by mid-Monday morning). So, sign up, and join me live if you can. If you can’t, you’ll get the recording and the handout after the call.
The sign up page has more details, and I’ll leave it to that page to do the hard sell. But I do hope you’ll join me because applying what you learn on this call will absolutely make a difference in your profits this year. (Plus, your readers will get more value from your blog or ezine, which is always a good thing, if you ask me.)

Jessica, I’m a mortgage broker and wondering how I can make this work in my business right now. If people aren’t getting loans, how can publishing help in my business?
Hi DeeDee, if your market’s anything like the local market here, people are still getting loans and it’s more important than ever to reach out and support them with top notch information. People are a little nervous about buying right now, and navigating financing and all of that, so positioning yourself as the go-to resource would definitely help you gain more clients (and help more people). Honestly, though, if you’re convinced no one needs you, it’s time to do things differently whether you move into a different industry or simply offer your clients new services. Perhaps your clients would be interested in paying off their home loans faster–can you offer a financial strategy session to help them map that out? When you don’t have a line of ready, willing prospects out your door, that doesn’t mean there’s no demand for what you do, it just means what you do isn’t as in demand as it was two years ago–be willing to dig deeper and you’ll absolutely uncover new opportunities to serve your clients.
Great call, Jessica! Keep up the good work.
I really enjoyed the beginning of the call–had to go about half way through, but can’t wait to hear what I missed in the recording. You always have such neat ideas. Thanks!
Great call–thanks! What I want to know is when I’m planning a launch, how do I keep from getting too many orders? Because I don’t want my server to crash or anything.
Hi Mike–generally, that’s not something you’ll need to worry about, but if you have a really large list, or some super affiliates, check in with your host before the launch. Let them know what’s happening and find out about how they’ll be able to accommodate that extra bandwidth need. By alerting them in advance, you can almost always avoid any outages or downtime. And, if your host can’t support you, it might be time to move. I use and love Dreamhost and you can save $37 by using THRIVEYOURTRIBE as your code.
Jasmine, Pete, & Sam, it was my pleasure! I’m delighted y’all enjoyed the call.
Jessica, just had to say I loved the segment on cats and kids–you’re too funny!
Thanks,
Lexi
i’m a financial planner. i need to be professional all hte time. how cna i find someone to model who won’t make me look stupid?
Hugo, like I said on the recording, take a look at what you’ve purchased recently and decide who genuinely appealed to you for whatever reason. If you’re worried about seeming hype-y or unprofessional, make sure you choose a model that isn’t either of those things–that way, you’ll be able to use what you learn from them with confidence. There are plenty of people out there setting a great example of offering service and value without sounding like they’re just in it for the money, so ask yourself who’s been most persuasive for you. That’s your model!
Jess-as a computer programmer, my clients don’t understand what I do. I’ve never understood how I’d keep a blog or ezine, even though I’d like to educate my clients more. Thoughts?
Joe, any time that your audience doesn’t really need to understand *how* you do what you do, but they do need to understand 1) you know what you’re doing, and 2) how they can use your services more effectively, one of your best sources for content is going to be case studies. Profile other clients and the way you work with them and help them–talk up those projects that have made a big difference for the people you work for. These case studies will build your credibility and educate your clients about when to hire you and why they’d hire *you* and that’s the kind of education that translates best into new business.
Especially appreciated hearing your thoughts on modeling as I’m starting a new businesss and it’s good to know its okay to follow what someone else is doing. Thanks!
Just finished listening to the call, Jessica, and had to tell you how much I loved every last moment of it. You put into words exactly what I needed to hear right now. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Thanks for answering my question on the call, Jessica! I can’t wait to start using that basket with my welcome messages–what you said about it really resonated with me.
